The couple's first child was stillborn, but the couple had a girl, Tulip Victoria, on May 10, 1971. Johnny Carson invited him to have the wedding televised. They conducted long-distance relationship by phone as he toured he asked her to marry him in August and announced the engagement on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in September. He was smitten, tracked her down and arranged another meeting. After years of laboring on the fringes, desperate to break into the big time, Khoury found his niche. With his long, curly hair hanging in his face, and his brightly colored, psychedelic clothes barely disguising his hulking girth, Tiny cut quite a figure, even in the anything-goes late '60s.įor a couple of years, he was everywhere, strumming his everpresent ukulele (left-handed, no less), singing pop standards in a falsetto voice, and dispensing nuggets of his own brand of flower-power philosophy. But I've heard some of my tapes that go back as far as 1974, and I'm fortunate to be working in this business.'' He makes no claims other than being someone who once made it - in a real big way. Still unfailingly polite, as well as self-effacing, Tiny Tim is also honest about his place in the entertainment world.
